TEXTBOOK & NEW WORKS
There is a lot of exciting news to come on this topic. A one of a kind book exploring the sitar and surbahar in terms of western notation and the tremendous potential for their uses in non-indian classical contexts. The text also serves as a bridge between Western and Indian musical languages and traditions with the goal of developing a more thorough understanding between them. Included in the text is a large collection of studies for the sitar exploring every facet of the instrument, the collection is titled "Tattered Ragas". More details coming in the Summer of 2012.
